Just received a text from T-Mobile that reads:

T-Mobile: For the first time in nearly a decade, we're making an update to the price of some of our older monthly service plans. Starting on 4/2/2025, your phone plan will increase by $5 per line per month. You'll keep all the benefits you currently enjoy, and your rate plan type and bill due date remain the same. For more information, visit...

Which lands at a page with the following:

At T-Mobile, you pay less and get more.
While some of our competitors have announced multiple price increases – 10 in two years between AT&T and Verizon – for the first time in nearly a decade, T-Mobile is making small adjustments to prices on some of our older monthly service plans.
Our commitment to delivering the best value isn't changing and never will. Even with these updates, T-Mobile customers still save an average of 20% compared to AT&T and Verizon on comparable wireless and streaming services—while continuing to enjoy America's leading 5G network and award-winning customer experience.
Thanks for being with us.

FYI I've been on Magenta for years. I currently pay $240/month for 10 lines (including some free lines) and 5G Home Internet.

I have been tracking my plan price before and after the price increase and after adding the free line. I noticed that it showed a $45 increase(9 lines) and now $50 (with 10 lines). This makes me think that perhaps all of the free lines won't be free after all; they would be $5 each. In other words, the free line $30 discount would remain the same, while the line cost would become $35.

Please guide me to a service where I get 8 lines with everything unlimited for $125 which actually work in most areas. Since you are so smart , do enlighten us with your knowledge.
I just went to T-Mobile to price out 8 lines. $125 is a great deal, how do I get this deal? Is there some special promo code? Do I need to call to get it?

Update: Called the number in the banner and got the free line added. All fees were waived and sim will arrive by monday. Adding or removing lines does not affect the price lock gaurantee on certain accounts.

So the grandfathered plan stays same and you got line added? I'm don't have the message in my app wondering they will still give it.

One plus 2 lines was $70 back in the days plus add 3rd line to get free line so went to $100 and over years got 4 free lines added. Added a watch $5 was recently increased to $8.. now with $15 increase for 3 paid lines it will be around $125 for 8 unlimited talk text and data lines plus watch. I would gladly be on this plan.

go to Verizon or at&t. They will buy out your contract.

How come some people are still lucky enough to not get the price increase? I know two other plans who signed up like back in 2012 or earlier on simple choice and still didn't get the price increase.

Meanwhile my ONE plan and in laws ONE 55+ have gotten it.

I have an old all "unlimited" everything Spring plan and got the text too. Still not a terrible deal to me as I'm not sure how many actual unlimited plans are still out there nowadays. I use my mobile hotspot quite a bit due to this.

How convenient this increase happens mere weeks after they enticed lots of fools on legacy plans, myself included, into the 24 month monthly trade-in credits.

Yeah, I just traded my s23fe for a iPhone 16 because they offered me $500. It sucks because my wife's phone will be paid off in July and we could have started shopping

It's because you ran out of the $5 auto pay discount. It caps off at 8 lines.

Free lines are free. (I guess technically if under 8 lines)

Guys. I am looking for people who have 9 lines on the One plan and got hit with the price increase LAST TIME, in June of 2024. I just need to confirm two things:

1. Did your plan charge for the 9 lines increase to $355?
2. Did your free line credits increase from $30 to $35?

Thanks!
