Called into T-Mobile today because I got a text saying my plan is increasing by $5/line since my older T-Mobile One plan has been the same price for 8 years. The rep told me that there is a targeted offer available to some older plans that started today 3/13/25. Bring your own device and get a free line. I had to pay $10 for a sim card, but they were able to credit me $10 to my account.

Worth a try to call in if you have an older plan. YMMV.

T-mobile is offering a free line to select customers [tmo.report]. Check your T-life app to see if you qualify, first box on the homescreen will say "We're giving you a FREE line."

If you qualify, call 833-579-2248 to add the line. That number connected me to an agent with 1 ring and I got free line added within 10 minutes.

Read the wiki for more information!

Since you are working with an agent / person, everything is YMMV. My $10 DCC was waived and the agent didn't care that I have 2+ free lines already. First step is to check your T-life app to see if you qualify.

Main thread on T-mobile subreddit [reddit.com]. Refer to it for more / current info. Some redditors have complained that some agents declined them because they had 2+ free lines already. Some redditors have success trying again on 833-579-2248, 611, chat, or T-Force. Since there is a bit of YMMV with the agent, be kind and nice, and try again somewhere else if you get rejected. Of course, some redditors are trying to get the free line even though their T-life doesn't show the offer (huge YMMV).

Yes, T-mobile did another round of price hikes today for existing plans. Check your text messages of your primary line to see if you will be affected starting April.

Make sure they didn't change your old grandfathered plan.
I vaguely recall some people got charged extra or got plan changed after adding supposedly free line a few years back.

Looks like if your account already has a BYOD Free Line, this offer is not eligible.

T-life Chat Rep:
"As you are already receiving a one-line discount, this additional discount will not be applicable to your account."

Is it a voice line only or can I get a data line for my watch or tablet?

Where in the T-Life app would it show that you're eligible? Just right on the main page?

Nothing, Magenta Max 2 paid 1 free

I did port out/port in a paid line to the free line 75 days ago. Maybe thats why I didn't get the offer.

I got the notification about the plan price going up. Does the price increase impact any existing free lines?

I wonder if this is rep-dependent.

I received the offer in my t-life app and have 3 free lines currently, however the rep said that my existing free lines disqualified me from not qualifying for a 4th free line.

I was told the same because so I opted not to proceed.
