I don't like sipping out of a lid -- I just like a mug.
Also, there's a very small window with a thermos where the coffee is at the temperature you want. It's mainly either too hot to touch, or then passes the window and becomes meh warm.
I've been all over the place with coffee, for >20 years. Started with crap burned coffee at work doused with cream and sugar. Moved to crap Keurig cups that were still somehow better than the work crap. Then a cheap drip maker. Then I went Aeropress and started drinking coffee black. Then I went espresso machine and really started appreciating the temperatures of good coffee.
Long winded way of saying -- to each their own, and you definitely don't NEED this, but... If you're interested in trying this out, at least the price point is there with this deal.

It was so bad that I emailed my Senator
Bought one for my wife last year and gave it to her as a gift for Christmas. It came in a new box and I didn't tell her it was reconditioned, and she would never know unless she's reading the Slickdeals post…
I've been using my Woot Ember every day since I got before Christmas.
The box was a little beat up, but everything else seemed like new. And I haven't had any issues with it yet.
Thinking of buying another one for my desk at work...

I'm interested in one, but I have to wonder what the advantage of this would be over an insulated mug.
My mug will keep the coffee warm for hours. Is there something that makes these better?

Just some differences, but warm is warm at the end of the day, right?

It doesn't keep it just warm, it keeps the exact temperature until the last sip

I had the same question/hesitation, and your answer was very thorough and helpful. Thank you.
I bought 3 x 14oz, and repped your reply.
