Amazon[amazon.com] has 2TB Crucial T500 M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4 x4 NVMe Internal Solid State Drive w/ Heatsink (CT2000T500SSD5) on sale for $132.99. Shipping is free w/ Prime.
I bought this at $144.95 because it was the best deal on a 2TB SSD w/ DRAM from a reputable manufacturer, and now the price has dropped to $132.99 which is the lowest since January 2024.

Can you remove the heatsink so this can be used on a laptop? I am surprised that the non-heatsink version is more expensive at $145.
The non-heatsink version is only $13 more. You really want to put your warranty in jeopardy for $13?
To answer your question -- probably. I had a few Nextorage SSD's with heatsink that I wanted to put in laptops and tried taking the heatsink off. It's doable, but it leaves behind a bunch of gunk that needed cleaning off the SSD chips (I use contact cleaner spray). It's a lot of work, definitely more than the $13 difference.
That list price is fake so don't think this price today is 50% off. At best this is 10$ off the same price its been since 2023 (has been as low as $121 IIRC).

Using "Keepa" it says it's been about 145 for the past 3 months.
