IMHO, this version is the version you want instead of the "The Lord of the Rings Deluxe Illustrated by the Author: Special Edition" [amazon.com]. Three books instead of one and I just enjoyed this version more from a design standpoint. This is fully though just my own opinion and both are gorgeous (I have both).
