Hackable if purchased separately ($159 total). Return the battery, and the saw will cost you $91.

do you need to do two different stores pickup for the hack to work? ie, pickup the circular saw at Hd1 and the battery at HD 2? or can you pick up both items at the same HD store?

Is the saw blade a common size? thx

For Home Depot hacks you don't need 2 separate stores pickups. Same store pickup or easier yet have both delivered to you then return one either by mail or a store visit for a refund. I have also picked up and immediately returned one in the same store. No questions asked.

Ok thx. I know with the recent M18 shop vac hack, I have to do two different stores pickup for the battery and the shop vac. Glad I can do the hack within the same store.

Is there a significant need for M18 fuel version over this for basic homeowner DIY stuff?

This will struggle with typical Home Depot dimensional lumber unlike the M18. Plywood is what this thing shines with

Stacks with military discount for $125.10 before taxes. Fantastic deal.
Looks like this add dust collection, but I haven't seen any ways to add a vacuum adapter onto the back of the saw.

I got mine during a $91 hack sale. Can't recommend it more for its power and compactness. It's also relatively quiet and smooth. I upgraded to a finish blade and impressed with cut quality. Also using it with a 6Ah m12 battery that keeps the rip cuts going all day.

Yes if you're cutting hundred of lumber a day you need m18 for that power. This is perfectly fine for diy and small project. I have both M18 and M12 circular saw. I hardly use M18 because it's too heavy and I hardly need to do thicker cut.
I also bought the small 4 1/2 Kobalt circular saw because it was on sale and much more ergonomic.

You'd be better off just getting a non-Fuel version with a common 7 1/4 blade for the same or less $$. You'll probably need to cut through 4" posts and 2 by 8's or bigger and this is too small to do that well, unless you're using a chop saw too.

Copy that. Thanks for your reply. I am a novice on DIY, but want to put my step on it. Thanks.
