Why does Slickdeals look like this using the Midnight theme? It's been like this for years...

And no, I'm not using Dark Reader or any other dark mode extensions. I'm on the latest production release of Firefox (136.0.1).

I'm not sure how that page originally ended up that way, but the reason that it hasn't been updated in a long time is because the Classic version of Slickdeals is sort of in a "maintenance-only" type of mode. There really aren't many things changed about it, unless something important breaks. Generally, most or all new features or updates are made to the Redesign version of the site.

The Deal Alerts page does look better in Redesign.

If you would like to try it out and see if that works better for you, you can switch to Redesign by scrolling down on this page and clicking Redesign View on the bottom left of the page.
If you'd like to switch back to Classic, scroll down on this page and click Classic in the right corner.

I kind of wondered whether the non-classic color schemes were being utilized by the average user, as two of them look identical to each other and then this with the Midnight theme. I speculated that they might just be legacy components that hadn't been updated because of the redesign. Tried the redesign version a while back and there's a lot that I like, some things I dislike, but mostly, it's just getting used to the new display format and figuring out where things have been relocated to. Maybe now's the time to make that jump.

Thanks for the info!
