This is a compelling price for their top 32:9 OLED.

Unfortunately, I can't find much about the text clarity enhancements on the gen3 panels.

I remember seeing the 1st gen 34" ultrawide at Best Buy when they first came out and remember thinking there's no way I could deal with the text clarity.

Edit: this may not use a gen 3 panel....

FYI. This is the g95sd and is the matte screen. The g95sc is the glossy one

I just went through this whole process of picking out a new UltraWide over the past week. This is a great monitor, however, if you need to use it for productivity tasks (I'm a software engineer), then you may have issue with it's text clarity, and there are reports on reddit of it getting burn in after just a few months of productivity work. (Edit: for those unaware, the subpixels are arranged differently on an OLED displays, and it can cause text fringing issues. Basically the edge of letters and text are not as sharp, causing a bit of blurring. This can cause eye strain, especially for productivity workers using it for long periods of time. Some people definitely are more sensitive to this issue than others.)

If your primary usage is gaming, and maybe some surfing the web, it'd be an outstanding monitor.

Thanks. This is exactly the feedback I needed to read.

What do you end up going with?

I've been eyeing the 40 inch 5k2k monitors

I actually went with the previous generation neo g9, as it's a mini-led VA panel. I was able to find a new in box model, that someone had bought when they were on clearance with Best Buy last year for a bit less than this model. Not quite as great for gaming, but much lower risk of burn in, and better text clarity then the current OLED panels.

Wasnt a similar model at 600+ last fall, or even Lower?

Yes, not that long ago. I wish it wasn't as curved. I'd love for them to make a mini led 4k monitor like their g8 but not curved. 34-40in would be great

I upgraded my Mac rig from a 34" to the LG 40WP95C-W 5k2k last weekend and I am delighted with it as a productivity monitor. I rolled the dice on an open-box unit from eBay for $999 and it is flawless. I'm glad I didn't go with a bigger screen.

Text clarity is crisp. And the screen real estate for my music production work is wonderful. It doesn't have the crazy refresh rates that hardcore gamers want, but that's not why I bought it.

Note that if you buy from Woot, you only get the Woot 90 day warranty. Not sure I want to risk only having that and will probably for the Asurion option for 2 years. Does anybody have any experience with getting Samsung service on Woot or Asurion warranties?
