Depends what zone you are in and what you are planting, Google "Vegetable Planting Calendar" for your state.
In my experience, this soil is closer to being 'mulch' than soil. You need to heavily amend it for it to be usable.

I used this 3 years ago and it was full of sticks and such and grew weeds. Bought 10 bags. I hope I just got a bad batch but never bought it since.

Costco one is 55L and this is 28.3L. Still this is good deal because you are getting 56.6L for $5.
