Extremely well done combination of Fantasy Chess + Empire Management. In a lot of ways, the blueprint for the modern Total War games. The arguably the best of the Heroes of Might and Magic series, and this version from GOG is way better than the version on Steam. An excellent laptop game, and can even work the touchscreen if your laptop has that.

This is the way. The HD mod makes the game look great on modern monitors and HoTA adds 2 new towns, tons of new creatures and artifacts, and maps. Absolutely worth it.

Good game to kill time on airplane. I did a few rounds on my international flight and it makes it goes so fast

Thanks for posting, didn't know this existed. Convinced me to add this game to my backlog of 100 games I'll never have time to play, because I don't think I ever paid for a legitimate copy of HOMM growing up and it brought me so much joy.

I wish there was a modern version of disciples…
