I use the cordless Makita as a portable on-the-go grinder and it's a good grinder that's definitely nice to have around.
That said, I'm definitely not sold on the X-Lock system and I wouldn't buy another one unless the price was really good. Changing discs on a conventional threaded arbor doesn't take that much longer than switching X-Lock discs. Plus the X-Lock discs are definitely more expensive and harder to find.
If you get X-Lock buyer's remorse you can buy adapters [amazon.com] so that an X-Lock grinder can use normal discs, which I eventually did.
