That is disappointing. It looks there's maybe a functional Home Assistant API that may work with tinkering but seems silly Ecoflow wouldn't put a bit of work in with that to provide UPS software. Otherwise, maybe putting a cheap or free degraded battery UPS in-between wired to the 12V output...eeesh.
The fact that people confuse battery backup with a UPS means that they use that to sell more units

I thought from prior deals on this same unit people said it could handle the 1500W compressor startup? I think the bigger deal for me is even if it can, I'd still only get like 7 hours with a 100W fridge and I have a garage fridge I'd need to power as well. You could add a 3500wh battery to this though and now you are talking over 35 hours. In a major outage like we had this year where we were without power for 4 days, that's still not nearly enough to keep from losing all your food.
The River 3 Plus works well enough as a UPS with my non-scientific testing. You COULD get that but as of now, Refurb River 2 Max + small UPS still offers much more capacity for the money.
