I thought it worth sharing that this version of Turbo Tax Deluxe Software that you download and install will allow you to include capital gains & losses while the Turbo Tax Online version requires you to step up to "Premium" to handle said capital gains & losses. Turbo Tax Online Deluxe does not handle capital gains & losses / investments. I've seen this mentioned in a few places with my recent research here's one example. [intuit.com]

I've read the desktop software will download your information from Turbo Tax Online or your Intuit account if you did your taxes on their web-based interface the previous year once you log into the desktop suite. It's prompted me for this, but I used a tax professional last year. I've also read switching to Turbo Tax Online after using the desktop standalone software will not pull your previous years information. So it works online to desktop, but not desktop to online.
Deluxe Desktop version includes Capital Gain. Online version does not include it.

Good deal but it's Federal only. Doesn't do states. I've been holding out for a deal on Federal and State but nothing lately

I thought you need turbotax premiere to do capital gains and losses, i.e., schedule D? Will desktop version of turbotax deluxe do this?

You might want to add that Home & Business is also $85 + $10 Amazon gift card. I was looking at it yesterday and it was $95, so it's effectively $20 cheaper today!

Omg I just paid $55.99 about 2 hrs ago. I just tried to cancel the order but it says I can't. I guess because they already gave the code out. Help says they don't do post purchase price adjustments. What a ripoff

Update: I chatted with them anyway and they said they canceled the order so I can reorder at lower price 😃. However it doesn't say it's canceled when I review my orders. Not sure what to do

How many times can I use the code? I remember for the retail versions you can share it 2-3 times within the household

I would recommend reading that thread all the way to the bottom. Apparently Intuit is changing the rules again for the desktop version, you can create the right forms with Schedule D, but you cannot e-file without upgrading to Premium. Upgrading to Premium is also not just paying the difference, although true cost isn't clearly specified in the thread. Since I have stocks/cap gains, according to the Intuit guide on their website, I think I'm stuck with Premier Fed + State: $72.99 + $10 Amazon gc :https://www.amazon.com/Intuit-Tur...B0DN1369KD
