Was shocked how good the previews looked vs. the actual game they delivered. As of March 2025, it still looks last-gen (and I'm being generous). Runs poorly in Xbox X, in my experience. Really wanted to play this, too.
This is included in Game Pass Ultimate

This game is very good, if you lucky to not get too many bugs you can loose track of time easily. Hopefully they will fix it like cdpr did with cyberpunk

Pretty sure all preview footage was from high end PCs

A lot to love about this game. Having finished it on series X and a 4k tv, I encountered very few bugs or issues. That experience seems to be the minority based on what I see posted but I had no issues or complaints throughout. The game itself can feel like a 'running simulator' after some time. Toward the end it was less exciting than the beginning. However that could be a result of choices made throughout gameplay and there are many and they affect the story trajectory significantly. Overall I recommend the game as a great open-world FPS.

I have. Good lord the PC version was chalked full of bugs. So many that I put it down for a bit.

There was a huge update, over 10GB from my memory, so hopefully that fixed numerous things. I have not had a chance to get back into it other than a 30 minute session since the update.

I personally hated it. I quit after about an hour or two into it. Extremely overhyped.

Props to them for making a game during a war but absolutely not worth the cost of admission and shouldn't be bought just because of their circumstances.

Just so you know for future, the phrase you are thinking of is "chock full of ...[whatever]"

But yes. It's a great game but still buggy AF, unfortunately

One of my all time fav games. The negative comments make it seem like it's damn near unplayable or something. Far from it. I started playing it on day 1 of its release and beat it approx 1 month after. Never ran into anything that ruined my experience for me. The biggest issue for me was the cost to repair weapons and gear along with some of the mutants one shot killing(chimera) you or being very difficult to take down(psy dogs and poltergeists).

That being said, they've had numerous updates since its initial release which have fixed a ton of bugs and balance problems including the aforementioned ones. I still go back and play the game every few weeks because there's so many areas left to explore. Pro tip: make sure to save the game right before the final mission of no return. That way you can explore the zone with all end game gear and weapons. Otherwise, beating the game doesn't allow you to return.

The things I've enjoyed so far are: the look and feel of the weapons, the physiological toll that you take of not knowing(but expecting) what is lurking in all of the deep and dark places of the zone. Having a good quality sound system enhances the immersion of this game to the next level. Lastly, said immersion is further enhanced if you leave the native Ukrainian narration on and use subtitles vs the English dub. This actually makes for a much more interesting and enjoyable plot.

The die hards of this game primarily have issues with the A-life implementation being lackluster in comparison to the original games. On the flip side, the developer is listening and they are constantly making changes to it. I believe that over time it will be become better than the original A-life.
