We're talkin' cookware here. You wanna simmer a sauce? You need the right tools! this Tramontina set from Costco? This ain't your average, run-of-the-mill pan situation. We're talkin' tri-ply clad. That's the secret sauce, people. 18/10 stainless steel on the outside, yeah, that's important, durable, looks good. But the real magic? That's the aluminum core, sandwiched in there, spreadin' that heat like nothin' else. Forget hot spots, forget uneven cooking. This is about precision, people. A Macys set will cook for you. This will likely cook evenly.
Just stainless is not good enough. Just induction compatible is not good enough
Look, I haven't cooked with 'em myself, but I'm tellin' ya, there's a difference with tri-ply clad. It's probably a strong deal. Probably. And the 4.6 reviews on Costco seem to tell us that.

That said, I have a few sets of tri-ply cook ware from Demeyere, All-Clad, Cuisinart, and Tramontina. White the Demyere is built like a tank, the Tramontina is my second favorite. Cuisinart is pretty decent. I don't like the shape of the handle of All-Clad. Tramontina is made in Brazil.

It's also important to note that an "aluminum disc" is different from "tri-ply clad." A disc only covers the bottom, and tri-ply clad covers the whole bottom and sides. This means that heat distribution will be clearly better on the "tri-ply."
Now show me a fuller set for $80 that is "tri-ply clad" and that will be an unbelievable deal. Probably looking at a full set more in the range of $150 and up.
The Tramontina Tri-Ply Clad Stainless Steel 12-Piece Cookware Set with Lids goes for about $280 on Amazon.

I've got a few Tramontina pieces bought from Amazon (in addition to All Clad Curated / Everyday with the easier home cook handles). Just note that the Amazon version explicitly says Made in Brazil in the title and this set says Made in China on the Costco website (further down in the details of the set). Still a good set, but something to keep in mind if origin matters for you.
