I am going to guess whoever did the refurb (clearly not Apple), only replaced the original screen and didn't bother with replacing the sealing tape so the phone was no longer water resistant. If they are going to cut this corner, who knows what other corners they cut. You can see refurb disassembly on YouTube; some repairs are just janky

My Apple iphone 12 Pro that Apple claims is water resistant up to 6 meters for 30 minutes (IP68), that was full of crap. In a kids pool where I took some videos under water of my kids resulted in my phone dead. Apple said they do not warranty water damage phones.
Buying used that is not factory refurbished is always a gamble. At least with this, there is 365 days to return.

Your kids pushed the button while it's under the water. That may causes water getting into waterproof devices.
1. Will this work with Visible+? I currently have a physical Visible SIM card and I am guessing I would need to figure out how to use an ESIM card and retain my current #.
2. Lots of negative reviews on Amazon about returning defective IPhones. Does purchasing directly from Amazon Warehouse help ensure an easier return process if I get sent a broken or stolen product?
- Yes, this is an unlocked iPhone so it will indeed work with Visible and Visible's eSIM. I've used Visible for years before. Their service is solid and works great with all recent iPhones.
- I just purchased a 512 GB, Natural Titanium "Amazon Premium Refurbished" from this Slickdeal. Mine is slated to be delivered tomorrow so I can come back and give you my experience once it's delivered... But, from the reviews, most people are reporting a decent experience with this "Premium Renewed" iPhone. It's kind of a gamble so I would suggest using a credit card with a solid charge back policy if Amazon tries anything dodgy.
- Technically, yes, buying "Sold by Amazon and Shipped by Amazon" should ensure a better return process because you're dealing directly with Amazon who is both the seller and the shipper but the way Amazon's been behaving lately, literally, it's "YMMV".
I used a credit card with amazing CS and a zero hassles, immediate chargeback so if within this 365 days, Amazon doesn't honor their own policy, I'll get my money back and Amazon will have to deal with my bank.BTW, just in case, take clear screenshots of the 365-day Return Policy IN FULL and hold on to your order email just in case you need either as proof if Amazon want to be a d!ck with a return within a year.

Is there a reason you didn't get the 1tb when it is only $40ish more?
