very nice... I just placed my order for the 1TB version and got a case and screen protector for $10 more. The 365 days return policy is what sold me. In 364 days, I'll return it

I picked up a 15PM 512 GB renewed back in October for $1069 and what a piece of trash. Exterior looks great with only very minor case mark on the frame. But when I use it in moderate rain the day of an overseas vacation, water got in the phone and fogged up all 4 lenses and took ~4 days to dry so the first few days worth of vacation photos are all foggy.

I am going to guess whoever did the refurb (clearly not Apple), only replaced the original screen and didn't bother with replacing the sealing tape so the phone was no longer water resistant. If they are going to cut this corner, who knows what other corners they cut. You can see refurb disassembly on YouTube; some repairs are just janky

I have had normal iPhone camera lens fogged up that have never been serviced/repaired.
My Apple iphone 12 Pro that Apple claims is water resistant up to 6 meters for 30 minutes (IP68), that was full of crap. In a kids pool where I took some videos under water of my kids resulted in my phone dead. Apple said they do not warranty water damage phones.

Buying used that is not factory refurbished is always a gamble. At least with this, there is 365 days to return.

Has anyone actually tried returning at 364 days?

Your kids pushed the button while it's under the water. That may causes water getting into waterproof devices.

I have used Samsung devices for the past decade but may buy an iPhone because I use a Macbook, people say Iphones connect better to current hearing aids, and my members use IPhones. If anyone knows off-hand:
1. Will this work with Visible+? I currently have a physical Visible SIM card and I am guessing I would need to figure out how to use an ESIM card and retain my current #.
2. Lots of negative reviews on Amazon about returning defective IPhones. Does purchasing directly from Amazon Warehouse help ensure an easier return process if I get sent a broken or stolen product?

  1. Yes, this is an unlocked iPhone so it will indeed work with Visible and Visible's eSIM. I've used Visible for years before. Their service is solid and works great with all recent iPhones.
  2. I just purchased a 512 GB, Natural Titanium "Amazon Premium Refurbished" from this Slickdeal. Mine is slated to be delivered tomorrow so I can come back and give you my experience once it's delivered... But, from the reviews, most people are reporting a decent experience with this "Premium Renewed" iPhone. It's kind of a gamble so I would suggest using a credit card with a solid charge back policy if Amazon tries anything dodgy.
  3. Technically, yes, buying "Sold by Amazon and Shipped by Amazon" should ensure a better return process because you're dealing directly with Amazon who is both the seller and the shipper but the way Amazon's been behaving lately, literally, it's "YMMV".
I used a credit card with amazing CS and a zero hassles, immediate chargeback so if within this 365 days, Amazon doesn't honor their own policy, I'll get my money back and Amazon will have to deal with my bank.

BTW, just in case, take clear screenshots of the 365-day Return Policy IN FULL and hold on to your order email just in case you need either as proof if Amazon want to be a d!ck with a return within a year.

Is there a reason you didn't get the 1tb when it is only $40ish more?

The problem is not that they won't refund but may instead deduct a 20% restocking fee. If something is wrong or defective, definitely return right away for a full refund. I've had Amazon close the return window at 90 days for Renewed Premium even though the return window originally said 1 year after purchase.

That's the only selling point of Amazon Renewed Premium.

What reason did they give for closing the return window in 90 days and not honoring their own clearly listed return policy? (I would have done a chargeback, lol)

Yep! I have a 128 GB iPhone 15 right now with a ton of internal storage not even being used. I just went up to 512 simply to have enough room for a few RAW photos and a couple 4k videos I might take. 512 GB is overkill but 1 TB is way way way overkill and not worth the extra $48 + 9% tax for my usage.

No reason, just a technical glitch. Also Amazon has an out that item needs to be in "original condition" so you're really rolling the dice and could potentially get hit with something for the 20% restocking fee. If you feel like burning your Amazon account or getting a bank that will even accept a 1 year old partial chargeback, go for it!
