Search no longer supports OR searches

Search operator "OR -> |" (used to be working) is showing zero result since 1 or 2 days ago.

Anyone is having problem with their old search queries?

I used to be able to search using the OR operator and sorted by new posts. For example:

godox | canon | peak design | kef | ryobi

This worked until a few days ago. Today it returns no results on the desktop site via Chrome. I also tried OR, but that also didn't work.

I don't usually use these searches on mobile safari, but I checked just now. It does show some results, but "canon" returns results that are not returned when searching "godox | canon | peak design" which is not what I would expect.

Is there a new way to use OR in search?

I usually search sweepstakes by date (such as "4/8") for April 8. No longer shows 4/8 results, and I can no longer filter by forum for some reason? I don't see a way to change anything back to how it was, but there are lots of settings all over

Yup. Search is a dumpster fire right now. I find that specifying a deal type of "YMMV" will guarantee no search results. This was been broken within the last week.

Devs are currently working on the new search to try to fix issues, so please be patient. I'm told they do (currently) plan to add Boolean search back in but I don't know how soon that will be.

For now, when using the OR | to do a search, if you don't get the results you expect or any at all, try clicking on the "legacy elastic search" link at the top of the search results. That will take you to the old search and hopefully work ok most of the time at least.

Since there is now another thread specifically for this same issue, I asked a mod to move your post to that thread, so you're here now sorry.

(And to the other now previous OP, I apologize that it displaced you as the OP due to to user Dfinding's post being dated before yours, sorry Frown)

For the OR | operator, for now if you get no results, click on the "legacy elastic search" link at the top of the results, which should take that search back to the old search for now.
Devs are working on a solution, see my other post above.

It should be working now if you are using the new search experience (/search)
