I have this controller and it's great. Use it on the Switch, Saturn emulator (on MacBook), and PC. Really well built as well, and battery life seems to be over 20 hours.

Does this by chance work with the Genesis classic that came out a few years ago?

I want to say probably not but they make a wireless version that has a USB receiver that might? I'm not sure though

I recently purchased the 8bitdo SN30 Pro for $35.99. While it feels solid quality, it's a tad small for my hands. The analog sticks are located whete they are very awkward to use. I mainly bought it for retro games on the Retropie, which so dpad is fine. Would this M30 controller be a good fit, is the only thing missing compared to the SN30 Pro the analog sticks?

This is smaller, like a saturn controller or roughly like a genesis or snes one so much smaller than one with analogs. But because it's flat it may feel OK.

According to the 8bitdo site, the M30 is larger.

144*63.5*33mm SN30 Pro
147*74*31mm M30

Those retrobit controllers are terrible Imo, especially comparing them to 8bitdo. This is a great controller I have 3 of them. 2 I have connected to my Mega SG and the other I use for emulation on my PC.

Retrobit Sega genesis controllers 6button are certified by Sega themselves. A oem 6 button genesis controller is still a slightly better choice for the og feel. The 8 bitdo m30 is not even close to OEM specs
So when it comes to playing retro I do like my oem controllers the most . 8bit do is great for newer consoles but if I want the ultimate nostalgic feel I got OEM everytime if that particular console was important to me.
I wouldn't be going out buying a neo geo, Sega Saturn or Dreamcast controller ,t16,sms.
even the snes mini controllers feel better to me than any 8bitdo controller.
I could never throw a fireball correctly in sf2 with a 8bitdo . I'm just old school so like I said I like OEM.

I still even like the OEM n64 controllers..

I bought an SN30 Pro controller a few years ago for retro gaming on my Switch and really wish I had gotten the SN30 Pro+ controller that's shaped more like the Switch Pro Controller.

Just because it's approved by Sega doesn't make them good. Especially when compared to 8bitdo. The retrobit controllers feel cheap and the dpad is off. It's interesting that we have completely have different views on the controller though. I like your viewpoint though thanks for the perspective.

Is the battery built in or some kind of AA size?
