This Bosch (#1 rated on Amazon) is a a little over half the price of this Milwaukee at $44.
https://www.amazon.com/BOSCH-GLM1...0C76CPGC7/

Use one at work and one at home. Worked great in daily use when i was in construction, I'm not in construction anymore so my usage is albeit limited now (maybe x2 a month) but it has always powered right on and continued to function for me. Screen is bright and legible and doesn't dim or auto shut off at the worst possible moment. A co-worker from construction days had a different brand that the screen timed out after being on for ~15 seconds, which unfortunately is about the time it takes to get it sighted in and set up to measure.

This model only goes to 100' whereas the Milwaukee OP posted goes to 330'
To get a Bosch at that distance you'd need to upgrade to the GLM400 (the number in the model # is the max distance) for $245
I have never had a measuring need over 100', so the GLM100 has always accomplished it
If you need to measure larger distances you'll need the Milwaukee or a better Bosch

Not to crap on the deal but Bosch ones are much better - faster and more intuitive. YMMV.

How do you see the red dot from 330 feet away?

You dont unless it's night time. you use a red laser target to bounce reflection off in the day time.

I have no idea - I bought my last one from Bosch 8-9 years ago and got Milwaukee a couple months ago. I was referring strictly to usability.

Works great in dark buildings or at night. Pretty much useless outdoors
