What makes a peeler an Euro peeler?

I bought this on a previous deal. It comes sharp and peels well. The serrated groves don't cut so deep that you feel like you're losing any significant amount of fruit or veggies. The only I don't like about it is that the serrated blade gets stuck on any dish rag you try to hand dry it with. You're pretty much stuck with having to clean it in the dishwasher.

I prefer this style vs the Y shaped ones. I am not a huge fan of the serrated edge but my old one needs replacing so this one fits the bill.

This is similar to what you get from a dollar store; May be a nicer handle. The peeler themselves gets duller after couple years of daily usage IMO.

I keep seeing this deal popping up every few months. I'm tempted to move away from the standard Y-shaped one I use. My concern is it seems like using such an extended tool/blade require applying more force, leverage to peel harder vegetables like potatoes whereby the Y-shaped peeler does not have the same problem as the motion is slightly different. Curious to hear your experience respected SDers of using both for peeling potatoes, radish and other more harder-to-peel vegetables.
