AliExpress package - can I go to USPS and refuse acceptance?

3,777 115 March 30, 2025 at 12:04 PM
I do not know how much is the cost to return an item on Ali Express.

Can I take the item to USPS and refuse to accept it - so they will return it back without additional postage?

I do not know what carrier they use! It says https://www.uniuni.com

How can it arrive it Los Angeles in 3 days:

14:55:24 Gateway transit in.
2025-03-23\ Los Angeles CA

03:23:40 Order received.

How can you refuse an item if you already have it?

Then you didn't refuse it.

You would have had to be sitting on your doorstep before they put it into your possession (on your doorstep) to have actually refused it (telling the driver to not leave it with you).

Legally you have accepted the package.

If you don't want it, you will have to cover the postage to return it to them to get whatever refund they are willing to give you upon them receiving it back.

I was thinking the same but it wasn't 100% clear to me if OP had it in their possession or not.

Agree with you, now they are at the mercy of the merchant return policy.

Good luck!

This is not correct according to the USPS:
https://about.usps.com/what/busin...on-611.pdf

Quote :
Mail Refused After Delivery. After delivery, an addressee may mark a
piece of mail "Refused" and return it within a reasonable time if the mail
or any attachment is not opened, except for mail listed in 611.1 c ( 1 ) a n d
611.1 c ( 2).

OP: If USPS delivered it, you theoretically should be able to take it back to the post office and refuse delivery. If USPS only did the 'last mile' delivery for a logistics company (you mention UniUni), then it's possible that USPS won't accept it or that they do accept it but it doesn't ever make its way back to the seller. I personally wouldn't risk returning something from AliExpress this way, chances of actually getting a refund seem slim.
