Here we have freakin 2 TERRABYTE MICROSD CARDS, but the phone manufacturers are still gouging us on an upgrade from 128 to 256 GIGABYTES.
Somehow I feel like it wouldn't break their banks to add an extra few hundred gigs. Especially since none of them offer memory card slot anymore…
Fakes like crazy. They comingle inventory... Very irresponsible.
I wish I could just shove this into an S25 but nooOOoo. I think Sony is the only company whose "flagship" still has uSD slot.

Is there any authenticator tool from Sandisk to verify their cards? With the rampant fakes, they need one.

Pretty sure you mean GIGABYTES and not MEGABYTES. I still remember when 20 MEGABYTES was such a luxury on my IBM XT compatible with 4 color graphics….
Right lol. A large reason phone manufacturers do that is so you're forced into buying cloud plans for extra data

I need this for my Nintendo Switch. I will wait for the price to drop down to $100 in 1 to 2 more years. My 1TB card will have to do until then.

1tb of switch games is already a boatload

H2testw.... If you can get 2 TB of data on it accurately, it's real

If you plan on buying 2, Sandisk website is cheaper since they have a bundle promo where you'll get 15% discount.

Bask in the last glory of the final SDXC card.
aint that the truth. there's talk of SD Express, but seeing as phone external storage options are non-existant, it will likely be used on other devices.

the Sony Xperia 1 VI from 2024 looks to be the last flagship that has a microsd slot, but it's basically a China phone, much like Xiaomi, Motorola, Huawei, Honor, Nothing Phone, and Oppo phones to name a few. the chances of it working with US carriers is not worth the risk considering it's high price. maybe the international version might have better frequency support?

all we have this year so far is the low end SamDung A26 phone with a microSD slot.

this wont stop. SamDung, Google Pixel, and One Plus are the only 3 options for phones we have these days. they have cornered the Android market and will gouge endlessly on storage. they have not given me a single reason to upgrade my 128GB LG Velvet 5G the past few years (now with an additional 2TB of storage). all i see is the same $1000 featureless phones year after year. and the lack of a headphone jack has angered me to no end. I'll eventually be forced to upgrade, but I'll wait until the norm for storage is at least 1TB, even if it takes another decade.

How long will writing a full 2 terabytes to a card with this speed take? Sounds like a lot of hassle when the manufacturer could just allow us to authenticate them with software.

If it's shipped and sold by Amazon or the manufacturer itself, there's no risk of it being fake... you just need to *pay* attention.

Unfortunately, this isn't true. The fake I received was so bad, the metal contacts were literally just gold paint on the plastic.. shipped and sold from Amazon ⚠️

And they couldn't care less. They just gave me my money back, but didn't care that it was fake.
