Unfortunately no great deal compared to your local Home Depot or Lowe's

How good a deal depends on what you are buying, but I bought Leyland cypress at a price far better than local places. They also stand by their warranty and replaced two trees I had that ended up in poor health. They are boxed pretty well, but depending on timing can arrive dry so you will want to open/plant immediately.

I'm going to plug buying from https://gardenforwildlife.com/ over this site or any big box store. They curate their plants, grasses, trees, and shrubs to offer ones that are native to your area instead of whatever cheap, fast growing, ornamental you'll find at these places that invite invasive insects and so forth into your yard and landscape.

At a glance, they seem to be priced better, too. I can get a red maple for $69 right now vs. buying a non-native tree for $100+

I've ordered from them and I've gotten tree that haven't grown in two seasons. They are good though about sending me more trees when one dies.

Bought a 6 ft honey fig tree from them two summers ago. It's still alive, but hasn't grown an inch or produced any fruit yet.

True, but HD and Lowes trees are really deplorable. Hope this will be better.
They've helped me with my dozens of home needs. Why hate on everything?

They should be called fast dying trees.

they most certainly will not. "fast growing trees" and mail order, dont really go hand in hand. trees shipped in from god knows hwere will likely take quite a while to acclimate. the trees at HD/Lowes are piss poor because they are already in that state of acclimation. these might arrive great, but are a few steps behind those big box trees. IMO you should buy the next size down (or 2) at a local nursery and within 2 years you will be ahead of the game as the trees will have a pretty massive head start.

Kind of expensive. One of my local nurseries have the contender peach trees (about 4 feet) for $79.95 and these guys have them for $119.95 after their "14% off". Home Depot has 2 - 3 foot ones for $73 (shipped, buying at store is usually cheaper during the spring). They put them on sale for $49 last spring and never restocked the stores in my area. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Conte.../315948321

While that site is really cool and I'll probably use it, this one has trees that are already 4-5 feet tall. Thats 3-4 years of growing versus one from garden for wildlife
