These must not be selling very well. The equivalent tier m3 pro didn't hit this price until last August

I have the 16" variant with 48GB RAM and love it. Best Buy did some large discounts initially (ended up getting near $400 off). Granted, this does not run windows, but Dell pricing on the "new" lineup they have makes Apple devices look very reasonable.

I have the same model you have but for work, and I also have this model but with 1tb.

I think I prefer the 14" overall, and if I had to pick ONE, it would be this form factor, but with more ram than the 24gb I have. My 16" 48gb will probably last me longer because of the ram itself. No regrets though, I paid for one and not the other.

i think apple might also be excused from tariffs but the other companies probably aren't.

Meh…
I guess 14 or 16 really depends on who you are. I hate 14 so bad. 16 is the minimal for any decent work on the go.

I respect it man. I downloaded an improved gesture app called better touch tools and it really helps the smaller screen shine. I manage a lot of systems and it helps manage the horrendous window management support

at work i have a dock so I rarely need to carry it around unless I need to do repairs or meetings

16 is less prone to thermal throttling as well.

I think it's from the same guy! Just a different tool, but for custom gestures

Yeah but I don't have those kind of workoads (yet). The two fans are good enough for the m4 pro 14" for my use case, don't need that extra thermal capacity.

If I did have that kind of workoad, I have access to data centers so it's not a problem for me to get extra compute.

I've been windows my whole life, but it's the coolness, quietness, battery life reliability and snappiness that finally got me to move over. I wish there was good x86 emulation, that is the ONLY negative I can think of.

if it did have good x86 emulation, I would have easily spent another $1500 on a higher end model.

Seems like a decent deal right? Figure I should lock one of these down before the prices go way up.

Nah, people will still be spending money they don't have.
