Just decided to check outlet since they have an ongoing spring sale since the dell.com deal for 899 expired....and they have it for $768 + extra 12% off bringing it down to $695.

YMMV - if you have an amex offers you can probably get another $100 off (assuming it works on outlet purchases).

Credit card offers for Dell almost certainly will not work on Dell Outlet purchases. Usually this is pointed out in exclusion section of these offers.

I've heard horror stories on Dell's QA and users getting bad panels. Can anyone confirm this?

I've had an LG C2 42" and Alienware AW3225QF. The Alienware is sharper and the colors are punchier (especially red). I don't recall brightness difference either way...I think the LG was a bit brighter. Also text clarity is superior on the Alienware and it isn't even close. The LG OLED text clarity is a dealbreaker for a primary display.

Unfortunately for me, the AW3225QF has an inexcusable dealbreaker: the screen coating is soft and will scratch from a simple cleaning. This can be mitigated by lens cleaning liquid and fresh microfiber cloths, but micro-scratches are inevitable. Yes they are micro-scuffs and cannot be seen while in use, but this bothered me enough to not keep it.

I ended up keeping my 2x Dell 27" 4K panels for productivity with the LG C2 42" acting as a third panel for media and games. Zero compromises (except desk space).

The non-standard LG panel WBGR subpixel layout leads to very poor fine text clarity which means I cannot use it as a primary display. An RGB LCD is still sharper than the AW3225QF but the AW3225QF is so close enough that even I would be fine with it as a primary display. It is very clear.

I bought a LG C2 42" OLED about a month before getting the AW3225QF and had already decided to use the LG as a 'third' panel for games and media. The AW3225QF looked beautiful and I LOVED the slight curve it had. Trouble is, I kinda got used to having a dedicated gaming and productivity panel and liked the size for that specific use (42" is too big for a primary display on a desk at less than 3ft). It felt silly to use a AW3225QF for 'productivity' but 32" is a great size for a primary display. Then when I realized how delicate that AW3225QF screen is, I got rid of it. Best 'monitor' I've ever seen though.

If I had to pick ONE monitor to use, it would be the Alienware AW3225QF.

I don't believe this works, but if you decide to try it… let us know if it goes through!

I do not believe this is accurate - it's still a Dell.com domain. While I only have Chase cards, their Dell offers have always worked for me on Dell, Dell Outlet, and even on Dell Refurbished.

I also own both, but the Alienware 32 is only good if you use it with display scaling. At 100% scale, the text is much blurrier and harder to read than on the LG.

If you value display real estate the larger LG is the way to go. If you want to run with display scaling, which makes the text seem sharper, the Alienware is better.

I wouldn't say the colors, brightness, or refresh rate are different enough between the two to matter that much compared to the difference in usable resolution (aka screen real estate).

Reading the Dell Chase offers I have, those might be worth a shot. Amex Dell offer (i.e. $100 off $500) exclusions however: "Excludes all e-gift card and gift card purchases, international transactions, international contact center, Global events, Dell Financial services, Dell Outlet for Home, Dell Outlet for Work…" I wouldn't risk it.

Not OP and not on this deal, but I got the $200 credit buying another Alienware monitor from the Outlet. It was the aw2724dm.

I stupidly did not clip the 5% coupon, so I can't tell you whether that would stack or not. But the merchant showing up is the same as the one for the non-outlet store which I purchased from a few days earlier.

90 day warranty on these

The checkout page says "90 days support" whatever that means, but the following page linked from the outlet front page mentioned "computers purchased from Dell Outlet carries the same warranty as the new one" at least 5 times.
