No Megalopolis?!
Naw, it bombed in an inoffensive way, he reached too far and failed, that's fine, other directors have trashed their legacies far worse by going back and editing things or just driving franchises into the dirt out of laziness and greed. He didn't make an Apocalypse Now 2 or worse...Dances with blue people.

Don't care how some feel about it, I would pull the trigger right away if they included that one!

There's a Godfather bundle that goes on sale pretty often. Think it gets to $9.99 sometimes even (er, guess only once so far, usually looks like $12.99 is lowest). This one is obviously trying to get people to buy movies that don't normally sell well by bundling them with 1 or 2 others that would, also by leveraging the director's name. There might be a more comprehensive FFC bundle as well? Or maybe in the future. Apple also at least let's you know if you already own part of a bundle. Shame they don't offer some discount if that's the case, and/or let you mix and match and get the movies you want to watch, or gift the license for the one you already own, but a lot of times the bundle price is still decent enough that it doesn't bother me if I already own some of it.

Check out "The Offer" on Paramount+ if you haven't seen it yet. It's a 10 episode comedy/drama about the making of The Godfather. A lot of great principal actors and an entertaining take on a piece of cinematic history.

You're joking right? That movie completely ruined his legacy. When people mention Francis Coppola, they will now remember how bad Megapolis was as opposed to Godfather 1 and 2. In fact, compared to Megapolis, Godfather 3 should be sweeping all the Oscars.

Exactly! People are making such a big deal about this. I haven't seen it yet but seems like he made peace with it and he's ok with the product, why would it bother me?!

I agree that he reached too far, but exactly what he was reaching for, I will never know. All I'm saying is the man who made Godfather 1 and 2 should not have come up with Megapolis. I fell asleep in more than half of the movie, and I'm not going to spend another 2 hours watching it at home.

"Dances with purple people" is a super ironic thing to say here. Cameron fully commits to his vision over and over again. It was an extremely ambitious project more involved than almost any other movie. Feel free to dislike Avatar or any of his other films, but defending Megapolis as "reaching too far" and insulting Avatar in the same breath is some kind of view...

Avatar is pure forgetable slop, there is no ambition in it beyond the technology, which looked cringe and uninspired then as it does now. I was being nice, old directors tend to lose their touch, its just an unfortunate reality, but I respect the fact that he sunk his fortune into a project that got away from him, he got it done.
