I have tried 2 Ryobi versions of this model for that and both worked about as well as you would think a $15 dollar sprayer would...went back to pump pressure tanks.. read the most recent reviews before you buy.
I got this for $20 on woot last time and would not buy it again. This has a hard time spraying anything even slightly thicker than water. I'm using it with bifenthren to spray my plants for pests. It chokes almost immediately and my solution isn't even that thick. It's 1oz diluted into 1 gallon of water. Testing it with pure water was fine though. There is a hack where you pull out the pick up tube and poke a bunch of small pin holes in it and i definitely helps but it isn't perfect. Also the sprayer has to be held horizontal or tilted down slightly or it doesn't spray. So you're not going to be able to spray things above waist level or risk it choking out. For $12, I say it's worth a shot but I went back to my manual pump sprayer.
I have owned one of these for years. Great for spraying mosquitos repellent and bug killer. You must use water based solution. Did see some bad reviews but most of those people put oil fogger solution in the unit and that will destroy it. Also not effective because requires heat. Getting a second so can have 2 one for each application. This is a great price and steal if you have Ryobi batteries.

These are of not much use. I have one sitting in the garage. A 10-15 dollar manual pump sprayer is better as this one cannot be tilted much , takes time to prime and heavy.

Exactly this. I bought this for mosquito fogging with bifen, and it doesn't work for that.

I got a gas one that works, but the gas motor is finicky and a hassle. Here's the one I want:

Warning, Dont get this confused with the more expensive one. The more expensive one is phenomenal. This one is not great. Can barely mist other than pure water. Good for halloween effects though. I added food coloring, and black light and it was pretty cool.

How's this compare with the propane fired foggers?
