Steam has XCOM 2 (PC/Steam Digital Download) on sale for $2.99.

Thanks to Deal Hunter doublehelixx for sharing this deal.

About this game:
  • XCOM 2 is the sequel to XCOM: Enemy Unknown, the 2012 award-winning strategy game of the year.
  • Earth has changed. Twenty years have passed since world leaders offered an unconditional surrender to alien forces. XCOM, the planet's last line of defense, was left decimated and scattered. Now, in XCOM 2, the aliens rule Earth, building shining cities that promise a brilliant future for humanity on the surface, while concealing a sinister agenda and eliminating all who dissent from their new order.
  • Only those who live at the edges of the world have a margin of freedom. Here, a force gathers once again to stand up for humanity. Always on the run, and facing impossible odds, the remnant XCOM forces must find a way to ignite a global resistance, and eliminate the alien threat once and for all.

Definitely good value for $3 but the $59.99 price tag is ridiculous. This game goes on sale for under $10 every other month on Steam. Sometimes the DLC or first game is packaged with it.

I really like the combat and strategy of Xcom- however the ability to have that, a decent story, free roam, upgrades, etc like Wasteland 3, or Miasma Chronicles, makes it so hard to get into Xcom.

A bit old, but was a good game for just $3. That being said, it has been free in the past too. (4-'22, epc.)

Xcom gets pretty deep with the strategy though. you have individual team members and their training, the team as a unit built to compliment each other, the equipment to research and upgrade. skills to research and upgrade. then the base building, staffing, managing of resources, allies etc. and then the big boss monster the RNG

I adored Wasteland 3, one of the best games I've played, but it's an RPG. XCom isn't. It's a strategy game. It's like comparing Ace Combat and Gran Turismo.

As someone who's played XCOM and loved it, also love RPGs like FF7 & FFX, would I like Wasteland 3?

Loved this game -- looks absolutely gorgeous on a 55" TV. There are some excellent mods for it, too. I installed one with dozens and dozens of different camo patterns, which made distinguishing my troops a lot easier (and looked great, too). I think I might start a new game!

Shameless plug for this game - so much fun, yet true to its origins. Highly recommend this for less than the price of a cup of coffee.

Only way to know is to play it!

I adore the game specifically because it does something every game claims but never really delivers on. Your decisions in the game actually matter and have moral consequences. And those decisions aren't even black and white. Everything is shades of grey.

So yeah try it out.

For $3 this is 1000000% worth it. I've put hundreds of hours into it, especially with the mods available on Steam and Nexus. Long War 2 is a must have, but the game and dlc is still very much worth your time

Just want to say this game still holds up. I just did a playthrough a few months ago. Played it off and on since it came out. Worth $3.
