The frustrating parts of WoM is the map and theme. It's hard to remember where the places are on the map, and it is too interconnected. Every location is only a few moves from each other which makes it less interesting. Also, the theme is strange and doesn't work imo.
It's still fun, but the other versions are better. The original and the Greek are fantastic and it can be played with kids. My 7 year-old loves them all.
So give it a try but remember the others are better and worth playing.
I have a controlling personality and good at strategy so when I played a co-op game at the end I realized I almost played it by myself because the other players followed my lead. Any suggestions for me?
If you know the solution to the problem, you know the questions that need to be answered. Ask the others those questions. They'll come up with stuff. And provide yours suggestions when they're stuck.

I think the American Monsters map is much harder to read. I don't think any of them are bad, but I would rate them universal>greek>world >american

Interesting, the co-op I played wanted collaboration on each turn. I should check into this game.
