Great price but.... we (family) prefer the plaque control over diamond clean.

Why?

1. Last longer, took 3month old heads into dentist, he agreed
2. Better overall clean. Again asked dentist/hygienist to rate my teeth cleanliness, and the plaque control won 3 of 3 times I did comparison (I switched to a new different head after after each visit)
3. Teeth feel cleaner
I wouldn't say years, but I also go much longer between brush replacements than Sonicare's suggested intervals. Probably why they're putting chips on the heads now—makes me a little unnerved that they might eventually go full printer industry and have the handles refuse to start unless you're paying the consumable tithe on schedule…
I'm at a loss at understanding the logic here.

Anyone able to compare these to the $10 ten pack of knockoffs? Are they really that much better than the cheapies?

The way or the habit of how you brush teeth maters the most imo. Personally, those are better on the bristles, a little stiffer. But probably because of the different shapes, I don't feel it's really a must. I'm using some of those cheaper ones, my dentist did not notice any difference.

They're definitely better... just maybe not 5x better. More like 2-3x better.

The knockoffs vary in quality so it depends. I've had some that don't fit well at all and just vibrate without transferring much energy to the bristles. Others work seemingly just as well as the original head that comes with the toothbrush.

Long story short, try a few different brand of the knockoffs and see which works then stick with it.

Under "product specifications":

Features & Specs
Item Firmness Description Soft

Why would you say these are *medium* hardness?

I stopped replacing my heads, I've used the same one for years now, and dentist has said that my routine is great! My bristles aren't all spread out either, I don't put a lot of pressure on my teeth, just enough. Genetics plays into a lot of this, but I was surprised the dentist just continues to say my teeth look good, and that what I'm doing is great! Save a little money and contribute less to the landfill, sounds good to me 🙂
