If you don't like the "free" games of the month you can hold off activating Meta+ for 3 months.

Games claimed for "free" through the subscription are only accessible with an active subscription.

$30 credit for those that use a friend link prior to device setup (it's a ban-able offense on SD to post/request such links but check Reddit)

ALL SALES ARE TARGETED meaning they could offer 50% off to one account and no sale for another.

When buying games check for developer links to save a flat 15-20% when no active sale on the game.

You're going to want a better strap and there's 2 or 3 great options for under $100. Some have hot swap batteries.

If yoi have glasses or a stigmatism there are snap on prescription lenses you for $20 on sites or $50 direct from Meta.

The max credit you can attain per year is $599 (anything $600+ is taxable)

The 4th gen headset is expected 2026/2027

There's free 3rd party software like OcularMigraine that improves visuals at the cost of battery life.

The games with PCVR need the Meta app for PC and many others recommend Virtual Desktop when on sale.

You do not need to link FB/IG to your account can use a normal email account.

If you mess up the $30 link you have 7 days to click a $30 link and factory reset your headset and go through initial setup to get it. Otherwise you need a good bit of personal info from the other person for support to process it. Sometimes there's a promo for $60 credit so check the app.

I'm sure there is info I forgot like there's no crossbuy and if you see it that means it gives you a Meta PC copy you need the app to play.

360 videos through the YouTube app are not true 4K and should be downloaded to view uncompressed.

Rechargeable batteries for the controllers are a must as they take 1 AA each.

Activate 2 factor authentication and set a pin for purchases to minimize accidents. There is a small return window for purchases but YMMV with support.

Those with GeForceNow can use it with the headset but the experience is not amazing yet.

Do NOT expose headset or lenses to direct or reflected sunlight (use a cover)

If you owned a Quest2 and purchase a Quest3 you may still be able to get the $30 activation credit.

Do NOT leave the headset charging for hours unsupervised or with 3rd party plugs/cables

Always read reviews as Most Recent and check online for in dept reviews.

I've accidentally punched my headset during a vr workout and thankfully it was fine but mind your surroundings.

Meta+ is not needed to use the headset (my 3 month trial just ran out)

Does the Quest 3 have the issue of melted charging ports like Quest 2 had?

Amazing system spec for the price. Quest+ not super great. Still a novelty for most but very entertaining at times.

The issue is present however I do not know if it is the fault of 3rd party chargers/cables or being left to charge for hours/days.

I left mine charging for 6 hours on accident and it was fine with the included charger but YMMV

I have the MQ3 512gb, and I leave it charged all the time and a battery pack charging while playing. Haven't had an issue.

2 to 3s there's not much difference but 3 has color pass-through, pancake lenses, 512gb storage (really 430gb) and better processor (which you can see difference if you're willing use the mod for Ocular Migraine or QGO(quest games optimizer) at the cost of battery

You are the MVP. This is all great information. I had the quest 2 and my kids were pissed when I sold it to get the PSVR2. It's impressive in it's own right, but the games library is laughable. They used the Quest 2 every day and it's much more of a value than the PSVR2 based on the games library alone. I've been waiting on a sale to get the the Q3, but I don't think this one is it. The subscription service doesn't seem like the place to get the value. I'll wait for a better sale with no subscription benefit. Thanks for the info.

Returned it because it's just better to play games on the PC or Ps5. Virtual Reality isnt here yet.

Quest 3 is dope. I use the thing almost every day. Even just chilling in virtual environments watching HD movies, 3D movies, Youtube etc. is amazing. If you can download some High Quality 3D movies, they look unreal in this headset. Even jumping into people's rooms that host and stream live events like UFC or Boxing where everyone has their own avatars and can talk with each other is next level. Definitely get an aftermarket Halo strap for comfort. I also removed the facial interface, so the unit doesn't even touch my face. It's like wearing a baseball cap and the screen just hangs in front of my eyes. Super comfortable. It blows my mind how people don't buy these things.
