It's quad-core Zen 2 which is old but OK, and 2 CUs of RDNA2 which is slow but OK. It has refreshed decoding capabilities including AV1. Based on Passmark it's about 15-48% faster than the 8650U [cpubenchmark.net].

Is it that slow? Looking for a touch screen laptop for the wife to watch Netflix and surf the web with 40+ tabs open at once on multiple chrome browsers. Lol.
I bought her a refurb laptop in 2022 and its having issues on the keyboard and the touchscreen always goes out and she has to reboot it for it to work again.
Dell Latitude 7490 Notebook, 14-in FHD Touch (1920 x 1080), Webcam, 1x Intel Core i7 Quad (i7-8650U) 1.90 GHz, 8 GB RAM, 512 GB HDD

I also bought this one about a month ago, but also doesn't have a backlit keyboard - https://www.ebay.com/itm/16702575...medi
I see it is $299 now but these laptops are a steal for 16gb ram with 1 TB storage plus touchscreen.
just tested and ours does support charging via USB-C (with a laptop capable supply- can't use your puny 20W phone charger).
Build quality is meh as to be expected but it's far snappier than our older machines. Speakers are comically terrible. The compressed number keypad is a litttle annoying but still nice to have. Hopefully it lasts awhile

It would randomly max out fan speeds when left on and force shutdown. I've updated bios, (from what I understand it's necessary on all these, due to an error) and reinstalled windows. Just recently submitted a warranty claim and they repasted the CPU. Will see if it helps. Just FYI these might have the same issues.
