damn that's a pretty stout deal with the ratchet. It got decent reviews on the latest ttc ratchet destruction episode. This is like the going price of most battery ratchets but it comes with a free 3/8 impact wrench. They appear to be brushed, but at this price point - for working tools its a pretty gnarly deal.

It's actually 1/2 impact wrench

Anyone know if this is "hackable" and what the price is just for the tools? I already have enough batteries and chargers

I've heard there's two versions of the 1/2 inch impact, one being better idk if this is that one

It's showing as a single item in cart, so it doesn't seem hackable

As a weekend warrior, what's the need for a ratchet anyway? For locations when the impact does not fit - is all I gathered.

Being able to break a nut loose and zip it off quicker than you could turn em by hand is pretty nice.

Would the ratchet be perfect for potential DIY car oil change?

I wouldn't use this for an oil change. I would probably just end up getting the ratchet covered in oil.

pretty much, but I think you can use it like a non battery powered ratchet to break it loose.. then use the battery to turn it..

It could perfectly increase the potential for cross-threading the drain plug.

I see. Right now, I would use either a breaker bar or a ratchet to break a nut/bolt loose then switch to a battery impact to unscrew. I suppose one device to do both would be more convenient.
