Beginning April 1, 2025 the active service days are now 60 as a requirement to unlock. People will need to factor in and with that all deals are non deals unless you really want to use the service.

It's "active service days" now, before you could just do a month, cancel, and wait for it to unlock.

Thanks. Here's the before and after policy:

Before (using wayback machine to access old version of policy page):
For all cellphones activated with new TracFone service on the Verizon network on or after November 23, 2021, the cellphone will be remotely unlocked automatically, sixty (60) days after activation.

After April 1st, 2025:
For all cellphones Activated on the Verizon network on or after November 23, 2021, the cellphone will be remotely unlocked automatically 60 days after paid Activation and 60 days of paid active service.

No. It's due to us slick-deal types paying for 1st month ONLY, then waiting until day 60 for it to unlock. Now they are making sure you pay for at least 2 months minimum.

This makes service transfer to an old phone way harder (unless one is OK with trashing the new phone).
