These will auto unlock in 60 days AFTER activation. You do have to activate it first.

The other thing to note - these are bootloader LOCKED which doesn't seem like a big deal, but running "stock" retail US unlocked firmware is a lot better than the MVNO ones.

Basically if you buy this phone from best buy or moto direct etc - you get a "RET US" firmware (Retail USA). If you buy it from a provider like Total - you get an MVNO firmware that has a bunch of loaded bloatware, and your updates are tied to the total wireless / mvno chain, as opposed to the basic non bloated firmware chain.
This device will never let you flash a different firmware since it is BOOTLOADER locked - and they do not qualify for software unlock via Motorola's standard unlocker - due to an agreement with the MVNO. You will always be stuck on the Total Wireless firmware, there is no way around it.

You can use different sims/carriers no problem - but you will still have Total Wireless bloat and firmware.
Just disable the 'Mobile Services' app by Digital Turbine (the icon shows a smartphone with a green check mark on a blue circular background). Otherwise, this app will silently install a ton of other apps without your permission.

Are these unlocked? Or is there an unlock period?

What's the deal with "verify your identity." The mere fact that they mentioned it makes me think "evil third party takes my data """""""verifies me""""""" and then sells my data to whomever.

I think your math is off, OP.

The 5g+ is $60 x 2 = 120 + 49.99 = $169

So you don't be like me, and get 500 free phones from Metro when they had 3 months unlock times and sell them for extreme profit margins
So you did exactly what I would do.

No he is right. "purchase a 2-month 5G or 2-month 5G+ plan."

Two questions

1. Unlock period, could not find in the site

2. It says CDMA. Can we use it with any carriers, once unlocked

I just did a 15 plus deal with them. Do they have a limit per year on these port in/verify ID deals?

Appreciate the response. Does that mean 4 active lines or 4 deals per year?

I won't use any company, especially a no-contract mvno, with this ID scam, major roadblock. Legit financial or credit extension/ KYC sure, otherwise GTFO. LOL
