I used my saw only a couple of times a year to prune some branches. The motor stopped working in the third year. Blade would spin but wouldn't dig in. Changed the bar and the blade, too. After reading up on it in the forums, it is a really common defect that happens.

Worthwhile tool. I used it yesterday to do some tree trimming. Worked well. Your not going to be using this commercially. But for around the house, it's worth it.

I'm looking for the saw, but don't need another battery or charger. Can anyone input what the easiest way to sell the battery + charger, and how much I would expect to "rebate" from flipping them?

Facebook marketplace or Craigslist are sites I'll use. Most people will expect to pay around 10 bucks per ah. With the charger you might be able to get an additional 15 or so. I'd expect around 60 max if you sold them as a pair or packaged deal.

I'd get something else convenient that uses them so you won't mind having extra. LED light, inflator, USB-C charging adapter, etc.

Can't comment on the deal, I bought mine refurb for an authorized seller on eBay. The saw itself is great. Helped me cut up a fallen tree, trim, etc

Skeptical on this one I got a fiskar tree pull saw thing and I like it a lot since it has a pull string for smaller branches... Is this really worth it? I'm heavily invested in DeWalt but this is one I think I can live without .. got a 20v chainsaw but never used 🥴

This saw has been a lifesaver for me. The areas I needed the polesaw are all areas where it is a pain in the ass to get power out to, and the branches that had to go were a lot bigger than the manual ones would have been able to handle.

Just for scope on the deal, I was just looking at this tool only for $179.
So to come in $10 cheaper with the battery and charger is a good deal.

Chainsaw on a pole. Seems horribly unsafe. I'm in.

Depends on how many trees you have and how much trimming you need to do. I have this saw and I've been using it a few times a year, each year, for the last ~5 years. This saw is great and a I've never regretted my purchase. Compared to an old pull saw that I previously used (and still break out for small/quick cases), this will let you trim much more thoroughly, much fast, and with more flexibility.

If you have one tree that you rarely trim, it's not gonna be worth it. If you have 3-4 large trees that require pruning a couple of times a year, this thing is great.

Pulled the trigger on this one. The tool alone appears to be 170, so the charger and battery are just a free extra. I'm in the Dewalt battery ecosystem already and could use this to trim my queen palm trees here in Florida. I have a manual pole saw, but this one should make it easier and faster. Thanks OP!
