I have heard that 90+ percent of the issues with these Samsung refrigerators are due to ice and water dispenser. I guess if you do buy a Samsung, don't get one with the ice/water part.
I have a friend whose water line broke in his Samsung fridge and caused several thousands of damage to the wood flooring.

Having a screen on my fridge seems completely unnecessary, but I have to admit it would me nice not having to hold my phone while youtubing how to defrost my ice maker

The screen version is $1200. I do like the idea of AI to keep track of how old is the food and I don't have to open the fridge to check what's in there. It would be more energy efficient.

Having owned 2 Samsung fridges, I can say so far each one has had lots of issues with the ice maker, that being said I have also had even bigger issues with GE top of the line and others that costed even more to fix, so it's a toss up

Samsung has fixed the ice maker issues after the class action lawsuit. Before you pass on this just because of that, might be worth researching.

If you are really that worried about it, don't hook up the water line. Or just add something like this inline. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DHRCB6SH

I have the side-by-side counter depth door refrigerator with the in-door ice maker w/o the water dispenser for years. They are actually good. The new in-door ice maker doesn't continually freeze up like the old design Samsung ice maker. My relatives have the more expensive LG 4-door French door refrigerator and Samsung 4-door refrigerator. They both have water dripping and ice maker freezing up problems.

Friends don't let friends blindly follow the herd without doing their own due diligence. Just because something was true in the past doesn't mean it is still true. Majority of the samsung ice maker issues were from a previous design (which ended in a lawsuit). While that doesnt set a good precedent , it also doesnt mean that the same issues will plague the newer ice maker designs ( which the fridges in this post have).

My dad had one, and i think it had a 5 year warranty, and sure enough, 5 years and one month, it stopped cooling, and that was it.

I'm using a Samsung smart fridge. If you really like them, make sure to buy the extended warranty. My ice dispenser stopped working after one year (covered by Costco's 2-year warranty), but now it's leaking water. The evaporator fan also stopped working last year.

I have had a Samsung with ice/water and family hub for like 4 years. No issues yet. I really like it, and from my experience I'd definitely recommend it.

Hi
Thanks, I have a Samsung and it has a water filter problem. You must put a brand name filter if not it doesn't dispense water at all.

I purchased a Samsung washing machine after they lost a class action lawsuit on the drums exploding during spin cycles. Fast forward to just out of warranty and I am pulling clothes out of the washer when something caught my attention. There was a nice 2 inch crack in the back of the stainless steel tub. To Samsungs credit, they did repair the washing machine with no questions asked which I was highly impressed with. They didn't jut replace the washing machine but instead sent 3 techs who tore the whole ring apart to just replace the tub. It's now going on 10 years old and still works great.
