I have been taken Nature Made fish oils for... ever. Is there any added benefits of taking cod liver oil instead?

Note: Ignore the "mini" label. These are regular sized fish oils. They're just smaller than the gigantic Nature Made Ultra Omega 3 1400 mg softgels.

Why not?
Has additional chemicals to make it burpless.
Natural fish oil causes burps which is good.

I'm not sure if anyone happens to know this answer. Is a fish oil with "under .09ppm" levels of mercury still potentially problematic, rather than avoiding it completely with something IOFS certification for being mercury free?

Just trying to learn

The EPA/DHA content in one softgel is pretty good for the size though. Comparable or sometimes higher than similar sized softgels you can buy from Costco.

The pills at Costco with higher EPA/DHA content tend to be bigger and can be hard to swallow.

My experience is that the tablets isn't noticeably smaller. consider twice the packaging material and the fact volume is radius to the third power, if i put two side by side, you gonna be pretty hard to see the difference. (the image they use is to against their bigger tablets, which is possibly larger than what Costco has).

NatureMade said that they use a thicker capsule so that it dissolves slower, carrying the fish oil farther into the digestive tract. They are thicker than flax seed, pumpkin seed, and Omega 3 oils that I have taken.
This is the first I've heard about additional chemicals. But the way that people just make up unhelpful and even hurtful BS and post them on this site helps me understand why society is going down the toilet.

The extra chemical is just lemon oil.

Cod liver oil may have more vitamin A in retinol form? Too much of course could be toxic (retinol).
