At least scratch the ground with a rake first to give the seed something to attach to and rough it up a bit then slam it on down

Keep in mind - it's not 12lbs of seed. It's about 4lbs of seed, some fertilizer and a whole bunch of cardboard like material (shredded paper) to hold water.

FWIW I'm Midwest and bought a bag of this last fall on clearance. Sprinkled in bald spots on my lawn. So now I have amazingly thick, rich green grass in little spots all over lmao. Good looking grass. I'd do the whole lawn if I had $$$

It looks like it is 15% seed, so 1.8lb of seed you're getting here... woo.... This might be ok for real tiny tiny patches.

I don't get this either, why not get just the seed, they sell a whole sack for $25-$50 and with no coating or anything. Tall fescue or kentucky bluegrass or whatever it is that works in the area. Palm full of seeds cover a huge area with those.
