They are low carbon steel that rust within 3 days of sharpening. Once you sharpen them, you might as well through them away.
I think they are worth grabbing up and leaving them in the car/toolbag for as needed use.
These, according to most knife guys, appear to be either 440A or 8cr13mov. Another version of these with wooden handles was purported to be 440A.
Neither are top grade steel but should be perfectly usable for daily tasks.
Either way, 10 bucks is a good deal for 3 full tang fixed blades with sheaths.
