This is an Apple like ploy. They do something that is good for them (saving money by not having a battery in the case) and advertise it as good for you.

Apple does this with a lot of design choices like removing the headphone plug from their phones (makes it smaller.. and saves Apple money and encourages you to buy Air pods. Removes optical drives from computers, makes computer smaller.... and saves Apple money. )

Almost missed this part. Battery-free charging case. It must be plugged in to charge the buds, it has no internal battery. Or a lid, fwiw. What a bizarre leap backwards.

I guess that why it is called ECO, no batteries in the case.

Also uses recycled plastic, etc. Skipping batteries does make a little ecological sense, except the buds have batteries too. So reducing the total number from three to two seems like some dubious progress. And why no lid?

So essentially the case is a charging cradle. If the option to place your own rechargeable AAA battery in the case would have made more sense.

More profits to the company. That their overall end goal.

Maybe the next time they would put wires on the phone to reduce battery count to 0, and we could enjoy full ECO wired buds like 20 years ago😅

Got these today after a couple songs good sound happy so far for a backup pair purchased with a gift card I got for buying dog treats on Amazon expectations wise...seems like fast charging time and they stay in my ears. My main pair is Samsung Live Buds that sit on top of ears best overall I've had.
