The subwoofer of HW-Q990F is very underwhelming and considered worse than the D series. There are a lot of negative feedbacks on reddit. If space is not an issue, I'd go with 990D while it lasts. Not counting on the on-going tariffs will likely make the price increase.

Do you mean the HW-Q990F? There is no E, for whatever reason.

4 upfiring speakers of which 2 are on the soundbar and each rear has an upfiring speaker as well.

The third number is up firing speakers for Atmos support. Given the bar likely has two, the rears probably each have one. I'm assuming the rears are identical or nearly so to the SWA-9500 rears that you can add to the Q series soundbars.

Well I bought this about two weeks ago at $880 but got the additional 10% off for a total of $792 so I doubt Samsung support would price match to give me $20. Dang! Would have been a true Slickdeal move...

For ones considering this check the older Q990D posting last couple pages for assistance on how to get the 10% promo code to stack.

any tricks to getting the EPP tied to my samsung account so I can buy via the app?

I have EPP through my work but I can only see the EPP price if I go to samsung.com via work's Employee Access Perks website. It appears to be using cookies or a special URL to get EPP pricing. If I change browsers or use the app, EPP pricing goes away. I chatted with support for a few hours with no help there.

Any way of getting an EPP account without being a student or have an employer being part of that program?

Hah it needs to get around $660 like the last Q990C deal. This really only has hdmi 2.1 that's practically pointless unless u need for gaming.

FYI I purchased this deal in early February. The soundbar sounded great but after 30 days wouldn't come on anymore. It's been in the Samsung repair depot now since March 15th. Hopefully not a common problem with these....

Did Samsung cover shipping to return it to them for repair?
