I know there is gen 1 and 2.
While gen 2 is about $300 on sale, is this the gen 1 or is there gen pro before 2? Is it worth the extra for gen 2?
You can also use their recent on-camera strobes as a remote, but I'd only do that if I were combining strobes. The speedlight is much heavier than a remote.
You can usually snag a free remote with different offers, but just the light for $219 is an excellent deal.
Whichever model you get, make sure it's for your specific brand.

Now there is a Pro II which has a different screen, cooling system and a different type of modeling light than the last Pro version.
The new one for $80+ more is not going to be worth it for the vast majority of users. But do some research if you want to understand the actual differences and features.
The light modifier you use with this is going to be far more important than the difference between any of the 3 units.
I still use my non-"pro" version on pro shoots all the time.

That's what I didn't understand, so there is a Regular, pro and pro2. This one here is pro. So it's good enough and pro2 is not worth the extra to my understanding. Any recommendations on trigger? Flashpoint R2 Pro MarkII 2.4GHz Transmitter for Canon?
I have the R2 pro markII for Nikon. It's a solid unit. I debated between it and the nano, but decided physical buttons and replaceable batteries were more suited for my use.

It will work across most camera systems including Cannon, easy to use and cheap.

Thanks for so much good info, I ended up getting the X2T-C, since I need to use on board flash sometimes, the Nano is a pretty cool and cute one, but I don't need small size.
- Neewer ML300 - very warm color
- Neewer Q3 - don't remember
- Godox MS200V - noticeably cool color
- Godox MS300V - noticeably cool color
- Flashpoint Evolv 200 - neutral color
- Flashpoint Evolv 200 Pro - neutral
- Flashpoint Xplor 100 - slightly warm color
- Flashpoint 600 SE
Of all of them, my favorite by far is the Xplor 100. The color temperature is very stable and doesn't change (with the Evolv 200 for instance, after 1 hour of shooting, I notice the color temperature is 200K warmer for instance according to my CaptureOne software). Each Xplor100 is literally the size of a can of soda so I could easily put 3 of them in my camera backpack and still have tons of room in my backpack for other stuff (camera, lens, etc). When doing headshots, I have a 48" parabolic softbox 2-ft from the subject so I never need to use more than 1/64th power on my Xplor100.No worries
