Reading the reviews, it seems like there are significant clogging issues.

Interesting... I have 130+ different filaments at home and Elegoo is at the top outside of some Polymaker. I don't print a lot of PETG, but have used a ton of their Rapid PLA, basic PLA and PLA Pro and I've never had any clogging issues. I do have several PLA+ rolls as well, but haven't used them yet.

On that note... I'm sure it's possible to have had spools from bad batches.

Hmm, I've already bought up 8 rolls of filament recently. Yet, I'm tempted to pick up 4 more haha. Thanks for posting and making me consider spending more money OP

I have no idea what is going to be with the pricing in the future. I saw both Polymaker and Elegoo both post that they will be raising pricing with Polymaker saying it will be starting in May I believe (as if they aren't too expensive already). I hope it's just a blip. I have more filament than I know what to do with, but I can't help myself lol. Both my printers are running almost 24/7 lol.

This hobby has become way worse than my flashlught buying

Elegoo makes good filament (they also get rebranded as eSun). Not a great deal (wake me up for sub-$10 sales), but with prices all over the place with tariffs, not a bad deal.

Elegoo is not rebranded as eSun. eSun is a much lower tier based on personal experience and it's not even close. Some of the eSun I've had is almost unusable.

As far as waking you up sub $10... you may be sleeping for a while if your are looking for some of the better filaments. Even more so after they said prices will be going up

Haha yeah, I've got about 20 rolls right now but I'm worried about the prices increasing. I only run mine maybe 1 day a week though so I'm not blowing through filament quite so quickly. It's just hard to pass up a good deal. Which is why we're on SD of course

I'd take Amazon reviews with a grain of salt. I'd be willing a good chunk of their clogging issues are caused by non-filament related problems. Youtube reviews are slightly more trustworthy.

I've probably gone through 20+ rolls of various kinds of Elegoo PLA, it's become my trusted baseline filament for any new printer I get.

I only buy Elegoo PLA+, PLA, or PETG in that order. It's been by far the most solid of the several different brands I've tried. Easily found for under $10 a roll on sale, even $6 on the 8 roll bundle.

tried several kinds of elegoo pla and been fairly pleased. I like the wood/matte more than bambu's.
do yourself a favor and print adapter rings for cardboard if using an ams!

Oops, you're right. I was thinking of Inland, which was eSun and Polymaker, but I think there was some speculation that they recently switched to rebranding Elegoo for some of their filament. There's too much rebranding in this field. It feels like the 40-ish brands I've tried are all just 3 original manufacturers. Nothing about Elegoo or eSun stood out to me, except eSun's annoying naming conventions (a couple years ago, may be fixed by now) and some layer adhesion issues with their matte pla. Elegoo didn't stick out to me as exceptionally good or bad for PLA or PETG, but their ASA was better than average.
As for price, it's still easy to find sub $10/kg in 10kg packs, but, like you said, that supply might start running out. I had to pay $20 for a roll yesterday and I'm still recovering! And it was a Lightning Deal! Stupid pretty burnt titanium.

Get them while you can. Last year I got a 4pk of Creality PET-G filament from Temu for $39. I just tried to get the same pack and it's now $300 after the tariffs... $300!! In this case it's because the tariffs are now enforced when you buy straight from China (Temu, AliExpress, SheIn, etc), but when the Amazon sellers start to reorder stock from China and now have to pay exorbitant tariffs, expect prices to skyrocket eventually on Amazon (and Walmart, Target, etc) for anything that comes from China as long as these tariffs remain

I like their filament. After getting some esun and cheaper brands they arent wound as nice causing tabgles. Also they have a smell when running through my A1 particularly with a lot of color changes. As of now Elegoo and Inland are my favorites.

What YouTube reviewers are trustworthy? I'm sure there are some, but it's hard to sift past all of the sponsored reviews.

"I just got this for free and would like to tell you about it and pretend this is unbiased" has pretty much ruined YouTube.
