Seems decent to me when you apply cashback plus Amex and chase offers. Depending on your sales tax, that gets this 5090 system for around 4K. Other than winning the Nvidia FE lottery, a 5090 direct from AIBs and even WallyWorld (when you can find one available) will run you over 3K ($3200 + tax at wally for the base PNY a few days ago.

It's really a pretty decent system for the price. The biggest limiting factor is of course 5090 supply; good luck finding one that isn't bundled or marked up like crazy. Standalone founders edition cards go for 3K+ on other sites. Part for part, it's pretty comparable to building it yourself, if you can even get ahold of the parts and assuming you get a founders edition card at an okay deal. All that said, my biggest issue with Alienware has been their previous propriety to their own parts. You couldn't upgrade RAM in the R10 without it throwing an error, the mobo was a wacky shape, and the power supply was so specific to the system that you couldn't upgrade to another case even if you wanted to. They seem to have moved more toward standard parts and sizes (with the exception of going 12V only on their power supplies, which is why they're all platinum rated). This is an expensive computer with some trade offs of not building it yourself, but it's really not a bad deal. Thanks for sharing OP! https://pcpartpicker.com/list/RVcLHW

Agree! So just wait if your system runs good enough quit chasing for a bit. This is out of hand for the benefits vs last years hardware. 🤷

It is an ATX12VO power supply so you will need a specific motherboard if you want to upgrade this later down the line or throw away your PSU. Alienware is screaming about how they're using standardized parts but the fan hub requires an additional purchase adapter, the motherboard + psu is pigeon-holing your next purchase + the gpu support bracket system seems to be proprietary.

Like good job, it's a step up but between the still not great bits + the price, i'll still not recommend alienware to anyone.

If you're dead set on a 5090, decent price. It's one hell of a premium though over recent 4090 and 5080 deals. I'm not willing to pay it...

I after having 2 i9 fails due to their high failure rate. I lost trust in intel. After switching to Ryzen 9... i'm not going back to intel for a while. You could easily build this yourself for under 4500. But for people that want a already made machine. I guess is a meh deal. Def not on the cheaper side. I would also expect to see 4tb of nvme or 2x 2Tb nvme and 64gb of ram for this price.
