Decent deal, thanks. Usually the best place to buy these has been Sam's club at 18 for $35.

Good price. The real question is do I trust Amazon enough that these will be genuine batteries and not knock offs from their commingled inventory

Genuine concern based on this feedback. https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=176880298&postcount=10

I think it's a rare thing to happen, but it can happen.

I bought these from Amazon a few months ago. Some of them were dead before I even used them. In the past I would buy my lithiums from BJs and they lasted months in my trail cameras. I'm assuming I got fakes or rejects. Beware

There are people reporting it to be fake but how many of these are fake? seriously.

Part of the problem tracking fakes with Amazon is often the same link for a product can have many sellers and Amazon cycles through them. So for example if Amazon is out of an item, another more shady retailer could be the default and most customers never pay attention to the store listed that fills the item. Even Amazon though gets fakes with the volume of products they buy/warehouse there's no way they are vetting them all. The sad reality is these days fake everything is a problem, from toothpaste to batteries to oven gloves, to child safety harnesses, tweezers, water bottles, it's huge $ now to fake everyday products with high volume vendors like Amazon/Ebay/etc. and they are getting exceedingly good at cloning products where it's harder and harder to tell. Coin cell batteries are notorious for being faked on Amazon/Ebay.
In general there's 3 types of retailers on Amazon:
1) Amazon itself, typically this is considered the safest option, as they are products Amazon buys and warehouses.
2) Retailers that have Amazon store/ship their goods - mostly because it sounds like Amazon tries to inspect them as they are doing the storage/shipping.
3) Retailers that just have an "ad" on Amazon and the seller ships directly, so Amazon never touches the items. These are the most risky. Now obviously if it's a well known retailer, authorized dealer etc. that's different.

These are lithium batteries, much more expensive than alkaline but have very niche use cases

I used to change the batteries on my door lock every 3ish months. I started using these 5 months later the battery still reports at 100%. Even if that's off by 50% it's still a huge improvement.

Look at a state of charge vs. voltage graph for the chemistry used in these compared to the rechargeables SOC graph might give you insight.

These are fake which is why they are clearing them out potentially, the rest will go on woot in due time where returns are nearly impossible without waisting at least 30 minutes in emails and follow ups.

I moved from blink to ring for this reason.

Interesting data point on how expensive things are getting, but I bought this exact pack for 19.91 on 7/30/2021, which is almost double in 4 years. Glad I picked up the slick deal 4 years ago and still have some left.
