Only if you have a Chase Sapphire Reserve...the percent is determined by the type of card you have.
even with this discount you're only getting 1.5 cents per point - not a good deal
Considering you can regularly get apple gift card with 10% discount and you can use your point for 1.5 cent any time to book flight, I would say buying apple produce is only valued at 1.35. you can book flight to make it 1.5 value. Of course, it's even better for Hyatt. For example, for a cateory 1 , you can use 5000 points to book one night while the cash price could be 150 and also point reservation are refundable most time. I would value Hyatt point at 2.2 at least

While Chase believes this is a good deal, the reality is Airpods 4 are $129 with the 50% bonus, while Walmart and Amazon are selling them for $99. I've found that in house promo deals are rarely "slick deals". It's for convenience.. when you have so many points that you don't know what to do with. ✌️😀
Too bad you can't convert points into "tips" for cam girls on X websites... or can you?

This is a great deal for items that are not regularly available at a discount. The iPhone is an excellent example. This is as close to a 1.5 cent per point redemption if you were going to buy a phone outright. I am a Hyatt fan (though less after the loss of SLH) but the Hyatt Hyatt Hyatt bandwagon is overrated. Yes there is good value but it is only because of the cost comparison with itself (which is at times inflated in my opinion). Unless you are a Globalist, there are plenty of comparable properties you can book through the portal for the same or even fewer points and without the now grossly limited footprint. If staying at Park Hyatts and Thompsons aren't important, this is a practical and useful use of points. The reality is that when ludicrous redemptions are omitted (most people were never going to pay 6k for a business class seat so why value it at that - an iPhone would be purchased at its given price) more and more currencies are nearing 1 cent per point.

Also, if you buy with points, I don't think you get the extended warranty benefit (among others) that you would get when buying with a credit card.

You shouldn't have the sapphire unless you're a traveler and you should only redeem it for traveling

Pretty good if you have a good amount of points willing to burn . Good for phones if you are the type to buy the phone straight up since they hardly go on sale.

depends on which airline program you transfer them to

Not true, it can be worthwhile for upping the values of points off their other ultimate rewards cards, e.g. 125k in shipping at 3% back, with the ultimate rewards moved to a Sapphire reserve for things like this is very worthwhile even if you don't travel.

I wouldn't use the Reserve for actual spending other than possibly travel, as you're much better off with other ultimate rewards cards and moving them.

Travel if you want...spend your points on other stuff if you don't like me.

Hmm...I canceled my reserve earlier this year; it has been 50% historically for the reserve, but possibly not now. That would be unfortunate. I can change the title if someone else with a reserve can confirm as well.

I have reserve and it's only giving me 25%

I have a CSP, so points are worth 25% more.
Was looking at a Mac mini. Actual price was $799 or 79,900 points. Points required now after offer shows as 63,900. Won't 25% more should be 60,000 points instead? What am I missing?

It's easier to see of you do the math the other way.

It's not 25% off, your points are worth 25% more.

If you take 60,000 and multiple by 1.25 you get 75,000.

So, in your case 63,900 * 1.25 = 79,875

I've heard far too many horror stories (there are plenty of Reddit threads as well) of people not receiving their merchandise or having to fight the seller for months without resolution to risk buying any Apple products via Chase. Buyer beware.

Agree - I almost did similar deal last year and then realized this is a 3rd party and not through Apple directly. After reading how bad the customer service is from this 3rd party, I decided it wasn't worth it.

what if you split the purchase and use a mixed points w/ cc combo.
