The X5's biggest benefit is hopefully one you never have to use, which is a user-replaceable lens. Right now, if a lens gets scratched, your only choice is to send it off to Insta, pay $130 (X4's cost, not sure about the others), and wait up to 2 weeks to get it back. Yes, there are lens guards, but I found that on both the X3/X4 in snow, they'd always have a droplet of water that just clings onto the guard, ruining the shot, and/or they fog up. Don't have any problems in the snow if the lens guards are removed

Was checking twice a day for it to be back in stock, have a feeling this will be the best price for a while

You will need a fast and high capacity V30 microSD card, which is included in this bundle. The included selfie stick is pretty high quality, as you want minimal flex so that the 'invisible' stick feature will work as intended. The silicone lens cover is nice, just dumb that the camera doesn't come with it in the basic packages.
I wasn't really in the market, but after looking at some reviews, it is fairly useful. I have an original GoPro Session as well as a GoPro 8, neither of which I've used in years.
Pros:
Very nice low light capabilities now. HDR capabilities help highlight your video. The editing software is really easy, through the use of 'key frames.' Can focus on your sport/activity without worrying about where the camera is pointing.
Cons:
For snow sports (my main reason for purchasing), you will look like an idiot unicorn with this attached to your ski helmet. It is hefty (weight) and long. Most examples I've seen have the skier/boarder holding it on a selfie stick.

Tariffs are why it's $549 and not $499.
