Probably not for you then.

These weigh more than a half pound less than their M12 Fuel counterparts too. Think of senior citizens, anyone with wrist issues, getting into ridiculously tight/awkward spaces, or worrying about over driving/stripping fasteners in delicate areas.

I prefer the Fuel set (3497-22) to this set (3494-22) if for nothing other than having the 1/2 chuck on the fuel drill vs the 3/8 on this. I know these are new, so the price is still high, but I would expect these to come down quite a bit. The conversation would be a lot different if these were $100.

These are also brushless. The subcompact line is about being smol, even if you have to give up power to do so. The subcompact line is marketed to sell at a premium similarly to the fuel versions. It's a different purpose though. The mark downs are on the m12 non-fuel standard size.

These are noticeably smaller than the set you are using, probably a 1/4 or a 1/5. The upcoming substubby impact will complete the set.

This is the subcompact 3/8 impact wrench vs the stubby gen 2 3/8 impact 2563-20.

Totally get that, and you are right, the name of the game here is small size with punch. Might sound like a silly place to dig my heels in, but the 1/2 chuck has saved me some headaches.

Thanks for posting. I'll have to give these little guys some serious consideration for property maintenance. The 3/8" chuck doesn't bother me in the least because it keeps the drill smaller and lighter. If I'm doing something that requires a 1/2" chuck, I'd probably be using my larger 18v tools anyways.

If I want a drill that can drill basically anything from wood to cement, do I need a hammer drill?

For me, I don't use the hammer function even 10% of the time reach for my m12 drill. It's a useless function for me, since it's underpowered compared to any 18v/20v hammer drill. If I'm going to drill in concrete I rather reach for my SDS. Since I already have a better hammer drill and SDS, it's just better (for me) to have a lighter smaller m12 drill.

I think someone mentioned they will match pricing with other gen 2 stubbys. For me, it's either this or the Astro palm impact.

But it's 139/140 with $10 shipping. No Free shipping to home.
If you have a close Northern Tool location, it's free shipping to store, so it matches this deal if you factor in drill/bit set.

Usually HD does hacks on ala carte tools with ala carte batteries, not the kits. Moreover, this is probably one of the better deals because it's not actually a Milwaukee bundle. It's a custom HD bundle, which they never make part of hacks.

Free store pickup and I don't need the drill/bit set. I just picked up my set 😁

Hopefully this will phaseout and replace the non-brushless combo kit at $170. $199 is too close in price to the Fuel combo.
